Raise your hand if you always remember, in the midst of trials, that God has the wheel? I wish that was my native instinct, but it isn't always. I'm going to share with you how God reaffirmed to me that His hand is on all things... using a spider. It's all the more ironic as I'm terrified of them lol.
I was sitting one afternoon, feeling troubled in my spirit, and gazing out of the kitchen window lost in my thoughts, when a fairly plump spider hanging casually from its web caught my eye. My thoughts shifted from my inner turmoil as I became fascinated watching this spider rocking gently on its web, bobbing along in the breeze. My mind and spirit had calmed when the breeze became a sudden gust and blew the spider away!
Rather than my anxiety returning, I marveled at the revelation I experienced and prayed to God to make me like that spider, caught in the movement of God's will, with no thought as to where I will land because I trust in Him in All Things.
When you are worried, think about my spider, and submit to His infinite wisdom and grace.
The family and I visited a wonderful little rock shop this weekend and I found some lovely new treasures. As I admired my new stash of stones and jewelry, I thought about all the things that must come together to create such beauty and diversity: temperature, pressure, elements, and refinement. These stones take millennia to form, and meanwhile, people are born, people die, governments rise and fall. And the earth keeps turning as it will until it does not.
